toern GmbH wins the Digital Logistics Award 2024

toern GmbH impressed both the audience and the expert jury with its pitch and idea in the final for the 7th Digital Logistics Award and secured first place in the race against five other finalists. As part of the “Zukunftskongress Logistik – 42nd Dortmunder Gespräche” and “AI24”, the six finalists were given the opportunity to present their diverse and innovative logistics solutions to the audience in a five-minute elevator pitch. The audience and expert jury then voted for their favorites. With this award, the Digital Hub Logistics aims to recognize and promote creative business solutions for the digital working world in logistics.

1st Place: 9.000 Euro

toern GmbH secured first place, which is endowed with 9,000 euros and offers access to the network of Europe’s best Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH). The Hamburg-based start-up offers an all-in-one SaaS solution for returns management that covers a wide range of services for online stores. The solution makes it possible to forward returned items directly to the next customer, reduce CO2 emissions and return costs and covers all components of the entire process along the customer journey in one package.

2nd Place: 4.000 Euro

Second place went to Dortmund: the start-up Logistikbude GmbH presented its software solution for managing reusable load carriers such as pallets, containers and shelves in the pitch. The platform automates and streamlines tracking, inventory management and coordination processes, reduces personnel costs and increases transparency and efficiency in logistics operations.

3rd Place: 1.500 Euro

Third place went to the start-up with the longest journey: S2data came from Graz in Austria and impressed the judges with its software for optimized procurement and distribution logistics. The software leverages synergies through intelligent FTLs, LTLs, milk runs and the coordination of inbound and outbound transports in conjunction with intelligent consolidation between sources and sinks of loading space and orders.
