For 12 years, Auslandsgesellschaft.de has been organizing the German-African Business Forums NRW together with the chamber network of the IHKs in North Rhine-Westphalia on behalf of the state of NRW. This year, for the first time, the forum is being organized as an online event.

Currently, the African business is strongly favored by numerous initiatives of the federal government and the state of NRW. Well-known representatives from the federal and state governments – including Minister Dr. Stephan Holthoff-Pförtner and State Secretary Christoph Dammermann – will present these strategies and discuss the topics of green hydrogen, digitalization and sustainable business. Steven Pope from Deutsche Post DHL Group will present the GoTrade program, which greatly facilitates international trade with African SMEs, during the keynote.

Very exciting for the target group of German SMEs are especially the moderated panels on

  • Win-win with German technology in Africa
  • Sustainability as a success factor – value and supply chains, sustainable procurement
  • Digital Business Stories
  • Green and Smart Business for Success in Africa

Here, industry and country-specific information from experienced companies and business experts already active in Africa will be provided as good practice inputs and statements.
Input in this area will also be provided by Digital Hub Logistics Manager Thorsten Hülsmann, who will share his know-how with the forum participants in the course of the contribution “Digital into the Future: Insights from Africa and Germany”, discussing, among other things, the differences between digitalization strategies in Germany and Africa.
