Digital Transfer Weeks ended successfully

Instead of the Digital Transfer Week with Transfer.Festival and Open.Hub Day, which had to be cancelled due to Corona, the Digital Hub Logistics offered the Digital Transfer Weeks for all central initiatives and institutions from the Best European Digital Innovation Hub Dortmund: Five weeks, 24 digital formats, over 520 participants from more than 14 different countries. Visionary lectures, application-oriented workshops, guided tours through demonstration centres and expert discussions were all part of the programme – all available in digital form and free of charge via the Internet.

The unique innovation ecosystem thus reacted agilely to the changed conditions in the current COVID-19 pandemic and offered not only solid support for companies, but also networking opportunities. In addition to the hub, the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML, the Innovation Laboratory for hybrid services in logistics, Digital in NRW – SME 4.0 Competence Centers, the Graduate School of Logistics, EURO-CHAIN – The Project to Establish the European Blockhchain Institute in NRW, the Center of Excellence for Logistics and IT and the Center for Entrepreneurship at the TU Dortmund University were all involved.

The offer ranged from visionary online lectures, practical digital workshops and exclusive experience reports to virtual lab tours through the application and demonstration centres. Whether start-up, start-in, companies, corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, doctoral students or participants from research – there was offered something for everyone.

The focus was on the variety of topics in the Best European Digital Innovation Hub, which together describe the path to the Silicon Economy: New Business Models, Smart Factory, Internet of Things (IoT), Digital Twins and Artificial Intelligence are just a few examples from the comprehensive range of topics on offer. The participants reported on “exciting formats to emulate”, “unique insights into an exceptional field of research” and “impulses for implementation in their own companies”.
